About Sri Mariamman Temple
Founded in 1827, Sri Mariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore and a national monument. It is dedicated to Goddess Mariamman, worshipped for protection from illness, and is known for its richly sculpted gopuram over the entrance on South Bridge Road.
Its best-known festival is Theemithi, the fire-walking festival held about a week before Deepavali.
🚆 How to Reach Sri Mariamman Temple
The temple is in Chinatown, a 3-minute walk from Chinatown MRT station (Exit A). It is about 25 minutes by taxi from Changi Airport.

Modest clothing; remove shoes at the entrance. A small fee may be charged for photography.
