- Perform abhishek of the Shivling with water, milk, honey and bel patra
- Worship in Nishita Kaal (midnight) if possible
- Chant 'Om Namah Shivaya' and break the fast the next morning
📖 मासिक शिवरात्रि કથા
Goddess Parvati is said to have kept this monthly fast to win Lord Shiva as her husband. Lakshmi, Saraswati, Sita and Rukmini are also said to have observed it. Devotees believe it removes obstacles and brings Shiva's grace.
