A Vivah Muhurat is the auspicious time chosen for a Hindu wedding. Pandits look for a favourable tithi, a fixed or gentle nakshatra (such as Rohini, Mrigashira, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha or Revati), a good lagna and the absence of doshas like Bhadra.
Weddings are usually not held during Chaturmas, Kharmas (Sun in Sagittarius or Pisces) or when Venus or Jupiter is combust. Dates listed here are for New Delhi; always match the muhurat with the couple's horoscopes.
